A letter from the Pastor

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Saint Anne,

Next week, we’ll be celebrating the 136th Annual Novena to Saint Anne. This will be the 17th time I’ve conducted the Novena, and I can personally attest that it’s a very powerful time of prayer and spiritual renewal. Hopefully, you can join the community this year from July 17th through the Feast Day on July 26th. We celebrate two Novena Masses every day for your convenience. We also celebrate a Communal Anointing of the Sick on Saturday, July 21st, and have a special Blessing of the Children on Sunday, July 22nd.

At Saint Jean’s, we afford the opportunity to adore Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament every day. This private time for contemplative prayer, and the Procession with the Blessed Sacrament each evening, is an important part of the Novena. The Procession of the Blessed Sacrament is a special high point for all the pilgrims who visit. Gazing on the Risen Lord with love and faith as we process through the church opens our hearts for his gentle healing.

If you can’t join us please send us your intentions. We’ll place them at the Shrine of St. Anne, and encourage everyone in attendance to keep them in their prayers. During this difficult time of political tension here in our country and throughout the world, this year’s novena invites us to pray for healing not only for ourselves, friends, and relatives, but also for our country, and for every nation throughout the world. We need to pray for global healing and universal peace and prosperity for every person throughout our world.

St. Anne has interceded for us for many years, bringing healing and blessings to us. So please join the community of her devoted followers this year. Hold in your prayers the intentions of everyone making the novena. God bless you, your families and your friends.
