WEEK 5 – SAINT ANNE’S NOVENA – FR. BERNARD CAMIRÉ, SSS
Fr. Bernard Camiré, was born in New York City and grew up as a member of the parish of St. Jean Baptiste. After completing his years of formation with the Blessed Sacrament Fathers, he was ordained in 1966 at St. Jean’s. From 1967 till 1972, he spent five years in formation work in what was then the British sector of the (American) Province of St. Ann. With the exception of two years, when he was assigned to the parish of St. Paschal Baylon in Highland Hts., Ohio, he has been assigned since 1972 to the parish of St. Jean Baptiste as pastoral associate. In 1990 he became national director of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and beginning in 1998 served for eight years as chaplain at Lenox Hill Hospital, across from St Jean’s. He has authored two books on the Eucharist and St. Peter Julian, founder of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, and writes regularly for Emmanuel magazine.
