Our Windows

  • Moses and the Burning BushThe principal stained glass windows in Saint Jean Baptiste church  were crafted by the atelier of Charles Lorin in Chartres, France between 1912 and 1919.
  • The Lorin studios are the oldest continuously operating studios in Chartres.
  • Only one other, much smaller group of Lorin windows exists  in New York City, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
  • The windows at St. Jean’s constitute a series of unique meditations on the Holy Eucharist.
